Standard Course (Beech Travel Air): $5,750
Baron Course: $6,450

Course Includes:

• Up to 9 hours of aircraft time
  • Typically approximately 7.5 hours of dual flight instruction
  • Approximately 1.5 hours of aircraft time for the practical test
• Unlimited ground instruction

• Checkride scheduled as part of the course

Aircraft billable time includes transportation to and from the checkride location or time required to ferry the aircraft between KCEY and the checkride location.

Multi-Engine PIC Requirement:

Applicants must have at least 15 hours of pilot-in-command time in multi-engine airplanes before taking the MEI practical test.

The base course typically provides approximately 7.5 hours of flight time that may count toward this requirement. Applicants who do not have enough multi-engine PIC time to meet the 15-hour requirement will need additional aircraft time. Additional aircraft time needed to meet the multi-engine PIC requirement will be billed at the following rates:

• Standard aircraft: $575 per hour
• Baron: $650 per hour

Payment and Refund Policy

A $750 deposit is required to reserve course dates.

NOTICE: All deposits and course fees are non-refundable 

 Certificate and Rating Requirements: Before beginning the course, applicants must hold:

• A Commercial Pilot Certificate with a Multi-Engine Airplane rating
• An Instrument Airplane rating
• A valid Flight Instructor Certificate

Applicants with different certificates, ratings, or training backgrounds may require additional instruction, course time, and flight hours beyond the bundled course allowance. Pilots with limited complex aircraft experience may also require additional training.

Additional Course Requirements:

Applicants must have:

• A current flight review
• A valid FAA medical certificate or BasicMed qualification
• A valid U.S. passport or state-issued birth certificate
• TSA approval, when required for non-U.S. citizens

 Other Essentials
Applicants should arrive prepared and familiar with the assigned study materials. 

Skyview has several DPEs. We will have a DPE checkride date set in advance as soon as you book your course.

The Designated Pilot Examiner fee is not included in the course price and must be paid directly to the examiner. DPE fees typically range from $900 to $1,100, depending on the examiner.

The individual examiner establishes DPE fees, are subject to change, and are outside SkyView Aviation’s control.

We do our best to host check-rides at KCEY.  We also utilize other airports within an hour of flight, such as: KFYE, M54, KCKV, KXNX, M91, KMBT. Factors change with the DPE, weather, and DPE schedules.
